Multiple Master Bedrooms is new Housing Trend

Thursday, September 1st, 2011 at 2:35am. 982 Views, 0 Comments.

louisville kentucky multiple master bedroomsAs I’m sure many of you read my other article What do Buyers want in Real Estate?, I’m going to elaborate on another new trend that was recently touched on in The Courier-Journal, that is making its way into the list of things that buyers want when they purchase new housing:

Multiple Master Bedrooms – that include their own private baths.

Its growing in popularity and appears to be the wave of the future. Why? There are several reasons. The most obvious answer is consolidating of households. As time goes by, children’s parents may want to move in with their children and share a home. The multiple master bedrooms concept gives them the privacy and convenience of having their own facilities accessible just for them to use whenever they want,…

Real Estate Homes Mortgages Decline

Thursday, September 1st, 2011 at 2:13am. 658 Views, 0 Comments.

homes for sale in louisville kentuckyThe number of real estate homes mortgage applications on a national level declined for the second straight week.  This would indicate a drop in demand for home purchases and home refinancing.

The Mortgage Bankers Association stated that after making adjustments for the season, the number of applications fell 2.7%.

But some persons feel that this is merely a correction in the industry.  It is believed that the number of mortgage applications was artificially inflated due to real estate mortgage applicants filing multiple applications with a variety of mortgage institutions due to concerns about qualifying and the uncertainty within the mortgage industry itself.

This would of course then have a rebound effect as most persons would only take one…

Thursday, September 1st, 2011 at 2:07am. 649 Views, 0 Comments.

louisville kentucky real estate houseThis week's statistics are in from the REALTOR Direct Newsletter. Here's how they shape up:
LISTINGS:Residential (Single Family & Condo)
Sept. 24 – 30679
Last year609
SOLDS:Residential (Single Family & Condo)
Sept. 16 – 22253
Last year318
As you can see, relative to last year, listings are up and sales are down. This would indicate a softening of the real estate market, and a strengthening of the buyer's market that is already there. And if you look further beyond a straight comparison between last year and this year, you can see that listings are nearly TRIPLE the amount of sales that have occurred in the Louisville Kentucky Real Estate metropolitan area. This…

Thursday, September 1st, 2011 at 2:01am. 1504 Views, 0 Comments.

oldham county kyA 37 home subdivision built on 32 acres has received approval from Fiscal Court.  This property is located a short distance from Jefferson County across the Oldham County line.  The property was zoned as conservation.  The developer Icon Properties will still need approval from Jefferson County Planning and Zoning Commission to approve its preliminary development plan.

Many of the neighbors in the area were quite upset with the result and felt that its one more example of development moving into environmentally sensitive areas.  Concerns environmentally, and ecologically were raised as objections to the proposed development, but weren’t enough to sway the approval.

Icon Properties has agreed to several concessions including an easement that…

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011 at 11:01pm. 999 Views, 0 Comments.

remax louisvilleDespite the perceived “soft real estate market” that is taking place across many parts of the United States (and even Louisville KY), REMAX has continued to grow its offices and increase market share. REMAX internationally has now hit the 7000 office mark – a mind blowing 2 short years after hitting 6000. A remarkable achievement to say the least. It goes to prove that no matter the conditions, or market, that quality professional real estate agents can still excel.

As of July 1st, 2007, world wide office breakdowns for REMAX are as follows:

Africa 186 offices

Australia 94 offices

Canada 654 offices

Caribbean 56 offices

Europe 1,508 offices

Middle East 9 offices

Buy Louisville KY Real Estate

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011 at 10:55pm. 1127 Views, 0 Comments.

louisville buyers agentsBuy Louisville KY real estate NOW! There. I’ve said it. I can’t be more blunt or urgent in my recommendation.

People are always looking for the right indicators to know when to do a deal to make money.  In today’s market, there couldn’t be more indicators if someone was holding a gun to your head telling you to do a deal – and do it NOW!

If you read the USA Today newspaper on Friday September 21, you will see in the MONEY section many articles touching on what I’ve stated here on this site in my Fed Cuts Interest Rates a Half Point article that I wrote three days earlier on September 18.

On the front page, it says that the US Dollar has fallen sharply in value and is now at a record low against the Euro, and the Canadian Dollar has…

Fed Cuts Interest Rates a Half Point

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011 at 10:42pm. 1095 Views, 0 Comments.

real estate louisville kyThe Federal Reserve cut interest rates much more sharply than expected. Most analysts believed 1/4 point was the most likely avenue for them to move – but in a stunning shocker, they cut it a full 1/2 point. The benchmark interest rate plunged from 5.25 to 4.75 percent.

The move was made to help buoy up the lagging housing market in many parts of the country as a result of over valuation and the subprime lending market that has been taking a beating, and to help stimulate the economy. The stock market moved up 335 points as a result of the news.

So, what does that mean to persons interested in Louisville KY Real Estate? Remember, Alan Greenspan just announecd his prediction that in a few short years, that interest rates will have reached double…

Goshen Kentucky Ironman 2007

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011 at 9:30pm. 1472 Views, 0 Comments.

Goshen KentuckyShortly after the Ironman competition that was held in the Louisville Kentucky metropolitan area, officials in Goshen Kentucky are planning for next year’s competition. While things went relatively smoothly, there are some areas of improvement. One of the competitors was injured at the intersection of US 42 and River Bluff Drive, when a van didn’t see a police officer directing traffic, saw the green light and ran into Tom Murphy.

There were more fans and spectators than was anticipated, and this resulted in them crowding into the road to cheer the competitors, but this caused them to move away from the crowds, and closer to oncoming traffic. Police installed barriers, and that seemed to help the situation.

There was still concern regarding La…
