real estate louisvilleThe new stats are in for the week of September 16 2007. While many parts of the country are suffering through VERY tough real estate markets, the Louisville Real Estate market is improving.
Listings:

Residential (Single Family & Condo)

September 10- September 16

638

Last year same time

733

Solds:

Residential (Single Family & Condo)

September 2 - September 8

277

Last year same time

255

As you can see, listings are down from this time last year and sales are up from this time last year. This is a good thing. It is important to note however, that we're not out of the woods yet so to speak. Not all things are completely rosey. We do have more inventory than normal, and as you can see, more properties went on the market net, than went off the market net (638 listings vs. 277 solds). But, we are better off than we were this time last year. It is still a good time to buy real estate in Louisville KY. Investment properties for the most part are on sale, and there are deals that can be made on more expensive properties. So, if you are considering upgrading from your existing home - now is a great time to do it. I would NOT recommend making a lateral move, or downsize unless circumstances require you to do so. But if you've been getting the itch to jump into the real estate investment market, or buy that bigger home that you've always wanted - its time to jump in now.
